FOAM INSULATION BOARDS

Foam board is an excellent way to meet the continuous insulation requirement for walls found in the building code SB-12 tables when applied to the outside of a home during construction or renovation.  It is then usually covered with a weather barrier such as house wrap before adding siding, stone or other exterior cladding.  Joints are sealed to prevent air leaks, to ensure that the air barrier is continuous.  It comes in various thickness' and R-values to accommodate different prescriptive compliance streams.
