RADON GAS
PROTECT YOUR FAMILY & HOME FROM HIGH RADON LEVELS
The presence of radon (a radioactive gas) in your home can be dangerous for your family’s health and wellbeing. Breathing in this gas can overtime damage cells. In fact, long term radon exposure is known to be a cause of lung cancer.
Thankfully, you can restrict radon gas from entering your home and prevent exposure. SoundSeals Insulation provides advanced Insulthane® spray foam insulation solutions to prevent radon gas in Collingwood, Muskoka, Parry Sound, and areas throughout Central Ontario. Insulthane® acts as a mitigation system or barrier against harmful gases entering your home. Ready to safeguard your home against radon? Call us today.
WHERE DOES RADON GAS COME FROM?
Radon is a radioactive gas formed through the breakdown of uranium, a chemical element present in the soil. The process of uranium breakdown occurs naturally with intensity levels varying countrywide. The invisible gas thus formed rises from the soil and enters your home through the cracks in foundation or walls. Basement and other areas having direct contact with soil are the most prone to high radon levels. You are at a great risk if you spend four or more hours in areas susceptible to high levels of radon.
SPRAY FOAM INSULATION IS THE SOLUTION FOR YOU
Unlike the traditional insulation, our closed-cell spray foam creates a strong, unbreachable shell that prevents air filtration and radioactive gases from entering your home. If you live in an area with high radon gas levels, getting your basement and other areas in direct contact with soil insulated with closed-cell spray foam can go a long way in keeping a healthy and safe environment indoors. Aside from providing a strong air and vapour barrier, it also resists moisture and helps maintain a dry environment. This discourages problems like mould, mildew, and bacteria growth.
GREENGUARD GOLD CERTIFICATION
The spray foam solution we use, Insulthane®, is GREENGUARD Gold certified. It is tested to ensure low chemical emissions, thereby giving you an improved air quality indoors
